Murphy Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

5:30 PM to 8:30 PM

– 6:30 Tree Lighting

– 8:15 Fireworks

Event is Free, however please bring a new unwrapped toy to donate to the Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center Toy Drive.

Parking: Shuttle parking is offered at the Murphy Market Place near Country Burger

 ‘THE NUTCRACKER’ – Doors open at 3:30 p.m. and the show begins at 4 p.m. at Sachse High School, 3901 Miles Road. More than 135 ballet students will be participating in the Rowlett Dance Academy production. Tickets are $10 each. For more information, call 972 475-8269 , 972 475-8269

 CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARADE – 9 a.m. with lineup at 7 a.m., starting at Vines High School, 1401 Highedge Drive. The parade route will head north on Independence Parkway to Parkhaven Drive, then east to Westside Drive, ending in the Plano Senior High School parking lot, 2200 Parkhaven Drive. The theme of this year’s parade, sponsored by the Plano Early Lions Club, is “The Music and Magic of Christmas.” For more information, a detailed map and entry forms, visit planotxchristmasparade.com. 

Through Christmas

 CHRISTMAS ART EXHIBIT – Weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Fridays and 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sundays at Chase Oaks Church, 281 Legacy Drive. Christians in the Visual Art’s traveling exhibit will feature images from the life of Christ, from the Annunciation to his Second Coming, portrayed by 13 artists from a variety of artistic and ethnic backgrounds.
